Coats, Mr. David Richard Lucas, age 65, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held on 11:00AM, Friday, September 4, 2026 at Coats Methodist Church in Coats, NC. Rev. Frank Moose Horvath will officiate.

Mr. Lucas was born in Pittsburg, PA, on March 26, 1961, to the late Ronald Lucas and Margret Sheehan Lucas. He was a retired building inspector in the hazardous waste industry. Mr. Lucas loved the Pittsburg Steelers, Pittsburg Penguins, Pittsburg Pirates, playing and watching golf, and his cats, Joey & Mia.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Judi Lucas; daughter, Rebecca Ellis; sons, Bryan Lucas, Shawn Lucas, Ian Lucas; brother, Daniel Lucas, niece, Gina Lucas Nickerson and husband, Shawn, sister, Maureen Whittemore; several grandchildren; and many close friends whom were his family; many other nieces and nephews.
