Benson, NC: Mr. Danny Lee Allen, age 71, of Zacks Mill Road passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held-11:00 AM Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Benson Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Billy Cashwell. Following the service, the family will fellowship with a covered dish lunch in the church fellowship hall.

Mr. Allen was born on August 19, 1954 in Johnston County to the late Narron Lee and Idaleen Parrish Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents. He dedicated his life to serving others through a distinguished career in law enforcement. He began his career with the Benson Police Department before continuing his service as a deputy with the Johnston County Sheriff's Office, where he faithfully served until his retirement. He truly loved his work and took great pride in protecting and serving his community. Outside of his career, he found joy in life's simple pleasures—cutting grass, tinkering in his barn, and spending time doing what he loved. For many years, he also ran the sound system for the band Black Creek, combining his love of music with his willingness to serve behind the scenes. A devoted Christian, he was a faithful member of Benson Grove Baptist Church, where his faith guided the way he lived each day. He will be remembered for his gift of storytelling, his quick wit that could make anyone laugh, and his kind, encouraging spirit that lifted the hearts of those around him. His life was marked by service, faith, generosity, and love, leaving a legacy that will be treasured by all who knew him.

Surviving includes his wife of 28 years, Teresa Allen; children, Jason Allen and wife, Kylie and Nicki Williams and husband, Allen; grandchildren, Connor James Allen, Macie Leigh Allen, A.J. Williams, and Lyla Faith Williams; brothers, Ricky Allen, Craig Allen and wife, Jenny; sisters, Anita Berg, Sheri Parker and husband, Tony; and many nieces and nephews.

Plants are welcome; however, donations may be made in his memory to the Benson Grove Baptist Church Building fund at 6966 Hwy-50 N. Benson, NC 27504.
