I played baseball at Bunker Hill Hs in 73-76 and Dan covered me a lot. He wrote many nice stories of me and would always talk to me after a game or call me. He was The BEST always positive and fair. #Rip Dan Terry Smith

We have known Dan for many years. Both of my boys played sports for the park and for school. Dan would be out there writing up the scores and interviewing some of the players and fans watching the game. We grew to love him. He would always go out of his way to talk to us. Friends and family are in our prayers. WEEPING MAY ENDURE FOR THE NIGHT BUT JOY COMETH IN THE MORNING. Psalm 30:5.Love & Prayers,Barbara and Rev. Tony Beasley Coats,N.C

He was a good one Tim. He did his job better than anyone ever has to this day. He covered me all through HS and America Legion baseball in 1976 at Hickory Post 48 and Bunker Hill HS
