Cecil Terry Horton, 73, of Tarpley, Texas, passed away on August 17, 2025. He cherished his marriage to the late Pamela Faye (Honeycutt) Horton, and was a very loving father and grandfather (“Papa”) who took his greatest pride in his son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Born March 20, 1952, in Dunn, North Carolina, he loved his country and was a proud veteran who served honorably in the United States Air Force. After his service, he went on to spend more than two decades with American Airlines, retiring in 2014. Humble and straightforward, he found his greatest joy in family.
Cecil is preceded in death by his daughter, Chasity Faye (Horton) Wells; his parents, Jimmie Earl Horton and Cellie Wease (Hall) Horton; and siblings Patricia Ann Horton, Jimmie Earl Horton Jr., and Stacy Gale Horton.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Terry Horton; his grandchildren, Tyler Austin Wells (wife Melissa) and Ryan Scott Wells (fiancée Ali Flores); and his great-grandchildren, Ava Faye Wells and Luca Alexander Wells. He is also survived by his siblings, Larry Earl Horton (wife Jan), Celia Ann (Horton) Pollard, and Jimmie Carroll Horton.
