Catherine Stephenson Cobb

Four Oaks, NC:  Mrs. Catherine Stephenson Cobb, age 91, of 468 Homestead Road died Thursday, December 5, 2019, twenty days prior to her 92nd birthday, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.  Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Hopewell Original Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield. Officiating will be Rev. Seth Allen.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Grove Church Cemetery in Benson.             Mrs. Cobb was born on December 25,1927 in Johnston County to the late Israel Omega "Buddy" and Kitty Johnson Stephenson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Cobb; brothers and sisters, Earl Stephenson, Arah Adams, Rachel Braswell, Wade Stephenson, Carl Stephenson, Horace Stephenson, Carolyn Allen, Alice Little and Jimmy Stephenson.  Mrs. Cobb was a homemaker and teacher assistant in the school systems life skills department. She was also a member of Hopewell Original Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield.           For nearly two years Mrs. Cobb was the matriarch of five generations. Surviving are  her daughters: Gwyn C. Roberts and husband, Jerry, Beth C. Muscha and husband, Harry and Gina Cobb-Jackson and husband, Brian all of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Anthony Roberts, Alan Roberts and wife, Wendy, Robyn Wilson and husband, Bryan, Adam Norris and wife, Britt, Philip Roberts and wife, Laura, Catherine Knight, Justin Knight, and wife, Alexa and Bailey Smith and husband, Andrew; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews and special caregiver, Nan Alphin.           The Cobb family extends our love and appreciation to Amber Griffin and Kim Bissett for the care they also provided for our mother.           The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.           Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Free Will Baptist Children's Home, P.O.
