Coats, NC: Mr. Carl D. Stephenson, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at his residence. The family will receive friends from 10:15AM-10:45PM, Saturday, September 5, 2026 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00AM in the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Coats. Family and Friends will officiate. Burial will follow in the Coats City Cemetery in Coats.

Mr. Stephenson was born on September 22, 1938 in Harnett County, NC to the late John Nelson and Lola Pearl Ennis Stephenson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Norris Stephenson; and his brother, Ethridge Stephenson. Mr. Stephenson retired from Hamlin Sheet Metal in Garner. He was an avid hunter and spent some of his best moments in a deer stand. Mr. Stephenson was a lover of our military history and collected guns and knives. He enjoyed watching western movies and his favorite two soap operas.

Survivors include his children, Sue S. “Annette” Johnson and husband, Kent, William “Junior” Stewart and wife, Jacqui, Timmy Stewart and wife, Holly; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara N. Stewart and Brenda S. Pope; brother, Ricky D. Stephenson and wife, Vickie; sisters-in-law, Hazel T. Stephenson and Betty N. Stewart; brother-in-law, Edwin Norris; special cat, Smokey; several beloved nieces and nephews.
