Brother Malcolm Ray Fowler, Sr.

Angier

Angier, NC: Brother Malcolm Ray Fowler, Sr., age 81, of Montague Road died Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Emerald Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lillington surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Rev. Scott Betts will officiate. The family will hold a private committal service. 

Brother Mack was born July 22, 1942 in Johnston County to the late Roberts Luther, Sr. and Alene Clifton Fowler. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Mitchell Lynn Fowler. He was a retired farmer and owner and operator of Brother Mack’s Nursery for 20 years. Brother Mack was an avid outdoorsman. He was called into the ministry in 1968 and preached many revivals and funerals. Brother Mack pastored North Hickory Church in Angier, Macedonia Church in Olivia, NC and Friendship Baptist Church in Angier, NC. He never felt that he had retired from preaching and he preached anytime and shared his testimony right up to when his Savior called him home. 

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Jean S. Fowler; children, Karon Dale Fowler of Asheville, NC, Anita Rae Fowler of Fairbanks, Alaska, Malcom Ray Fowler, Jr. and wife, Beverly of Angier, Detrice F. Johnson and husband, Richard of Angier, Kellie Lane Fowler of Angier; grandchildren, Nicole Ipock and husband, Thomas, Luke Fowler, Sheveil Harmon, Emily H. Plemons and husband, Patrick, Clay Fowler, Emily Johnson, Erica Dodson and husband, Preston, and Cody Johnson; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Rose Ipock, Axel McLeod and Lucas Plemons, Presleigh, Hensley, Paxton Dodson; sister, Sandy Owen of Angier; nephews, Marty Owen and Keith Owen; special great-nieces and nephews.  

Brother Mack will lie in state in the chapel of Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 1:00PM to 1:45PM prior to the service the family will not be present. 

Flowers are welcomed; however, you are welcomed to send a card to Mrs. Jean Fowler, 1095 Montague Road, Angier, NC 27501with a story about Brother Mack.
