Betsy Fields Stafford

Four Oaks, NC:  Mrs. Betsy Fields Stafford, age 82, of US Hwy 701 South passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2020 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benson. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Hood's Grove Baptist Church in Newton Grove, NC. Officiating will be Revs. Sam Blackmon, Bill West and Mr. Derrick Barefoot. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.             Mrs. Stafford was born on May 11, 1938 in Johnston County to the late Laroke and Gladys Graham Fields. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Stafford; step-father, P. T. George; and a brother, Adrian Fields. Mrs. Stafford was a retired dental assistant and was a member of Hood's Grove Baptist Church.             Surviving include her son, Macon Stafford and wife, Sylvia of Benson, grandchildren, Nathan Stafford and wife, Heather, Brantley Stafford, and Benjamin Stafford all of Benson; great-granddaughter, Anna Grace Stafford; brother, L. G. Fields and wife, Eileen of Four Oaks; step-sister, Judy Lamm of New Bern, NC; sister-in-law, JoAnn Fields of Kenilworth, NJ; several nieces and nephews.          Mrs. Stafford will lay in state and you may sign the register book from 1:00PM to 7:00PM on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.  The family will not be present during this time. The family will receive friends other times at the home of Macon and Sylvia Stafford, 842 Godwin Lake Road, Benson, NC 27504.                In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
