Coats, NC: Mrs. Betsy Parrish Johnson, age 81, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at her residence. Graveside Funeral Services will be 10:00AM-Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens 2712 Oak Grove Church Road, Angier, NC, 27501. Rev. Steve Lawson will officiate. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. 

Mrs. Johnson was born on August 19, 1944, in Harnett County, NC, to the late Oassie Parrish and Maude Honeycutt Parrish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Ray Johnson, and siblings, Dora Mae Stewart, Roy Parrish, Graham Parrish, Alonzo Parrish, and Bobby King. Mrs. Johnson worked at Angier Baptist Daycare and Harnett County Schools. She was a caregiver for her mother and husband for many years. She was second mother to her granddaughter, Emme Ann, and stayed busy shuttling her to all of her extracurricular activities. She was her greatest joy. She attended Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church, Four Oaks, NC.

 Survivors include her daughter, Monica J. Thompson and husband, Tim; granddaughter, Emme Ann Thompson; several nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Johnson will lie in state from 2:00PM-5:00PM, Friday, July 17, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats, NC. The family will not be present; however, they appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Arrangements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats, NC.
