Angier, NC: Mrs. Barbara Ann Honeycutt Benson, age 90, of Zack’s Mill Road passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at The Landings of Smithfield. Funeral Services will be held-11:00 AM Monday, October 21, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Jack Robbins. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Angier.
Mrs. Benson was born on September 30, 1934 in Johnston County to the late Vaden and Reba McGee Honeycutt. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Benson and brothers, Kermit Honeycutt, Mack Honeycutt, and Billy Honeycutt. Mrs. Benson was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife; she also babysat many children over the years and became “Grandma” to many people. She was a good listener and loved taking care of people. She will be remembered for being an excellent cook who made the best chocolate pies, apple jacks, and homemade chicken pastry.
Mrs. Benson is survived by her daughter, Beverly Lawhorn and husband, Charles and son, Danny Benson and wife, Marj; grandchildren, Chris Lawhorn, Kimberly Jones and husband, Scott, Ashlyn Valdiviezo and husband, Junior, and Mikayla Joyner and husband, James; great grandchildren, Kaley Fry, Kasey Fry, Camryn Lawhorn, Christian Valdiviezo, and Jason Valdiviezo; sister, Faye Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home of Beverly and Charles Lawhorn.
