Annie Laura Johnson Lee

Benson, NC: Mrs. Annie Laura Johnson Lee, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held 12:00PM-Friday, September 12, 2025, at Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Benson, NC. Rev. Glenn McCullen will officiate. A Private Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.

Mrs. Lee was born on April 1, 1943, in Johnston County, NC, to the late Archie Green and Eunice Tart Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Bruce Lee, grandson, Christopher Lee McLamb, and her brothers, Jack Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Tom Johnson, Luther “Rock” Johnson, and A.G. Johnson, Jr. Mrs. Lee retired from the Johnston County School System. She enjoyed traveling and fishing with her husband, Bruce. Mrs. Lee loved eating at Pat’s Grill and fellowshipping with her friends. Known for her quick wit and sense of humor, she brought laughter wherever she went. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family.

She was a member of Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Renee L. Rhodes, and Anita L. McLamb, and husband, Chris; grandchildren, KrisAnna McLamb Coover, and husband, Josh, Anslee McLamb, Jon Rhodes, and Daphne Poulk, and husband, Matt; great-granddaughter, Zoey Poulk; sister, Louie Belle McLamb; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:30AM-11:45AM, prior to the service, and other times at the home of Chris and Anita McLamb, 134 Bryan McLamb Lane, Dunn, NC 28334.
