Mr. Billy Howard Sorrell, age 88, of Raleigh Road died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. A private graveside service will follow the funeral. Officiating will be Rev. David Langley.
Mr. Sorrell was born August 16, 1930 in Harnett County to the late Lentis and Maude Penny Sorrell. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, PaPa, and friend. Mr. Sorrell was a retired bus driver for Carolina Trailways with 34 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Genevieve Thornton Sorrell; daughters and sons-in-law, Gennie S. and Dr. Sam Kirby of High Point, Cathey S. and Donald Cottle of Angier, Phyllis S. and Ralph Mobley and Cammie S. and Bruce Emery all of Clayton and Lisa S. and James Parker of Raleigh; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen S. Stephenson and Betty Lou Sorrell both of Angier and Opal S. Coats and husband, James of Benson; brothers, Don Sorrell and wife, Callie of Apex, Willie Joe Sorrell and wife, Joyce of Benson; Keith Sorrell and wife, Linda of Angier and H.L. Sorrell, Jr. and wife, Gayle of Coats; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:15PM - 1:45PM Saturday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
